Malabar Kitchen will be located in the very busy East Village, which is a cultural “melting pot of New York”. The East Village brings together an artistic community, those in the fashion industry, business-types, and an edgy, vibrant and youthful demographic. Equally important, the East Village is perfectly situated between the busy areas of Union Square, SoHo and the Lower East Side. It’s a densely populated neighborhood that many New Yorkers consider home and who are in need of great restaurants in which they can dine and treat as an extension of their own apartments and living space.

The streets are filled with some of The City’s most well-known restaurants, including Momofuku and Hearth restaurant, as well as near by high-end boutique shopping. Nearby Elizabeth Street is home to original high end jewelry makers, the hip Bowery Hotel caters to global diners and travelers and the famous and integral Union Square Greenmarket is a stones throw away.  There’s something for everyone in the East Village, but the only thing lacking is approachable, inventive American food in a cozy, upbeat setting.

The area to surround Malabar Kitchen is packed with restaurants, bars, shopping and landmarks. Union Square Park, Thompson Square Park, Astor Place and the NYU area bring together New Yorkers and tourists year-round. There’s no shortage of reasons to flock to the area and Malabar Kitchen will satisfy the demand for straight-forward American food any time of day.
