Malabar Kitchen aims to be that special place where guests automatically feal at ease and its their "go-to" choice for any type of entertaining. The stylish and relaxed space will be anchored by a large open kitchen that includes a Chef's Counter that accomodates 12-15 seats where chefs can serve guests directly, thereby promoting an interactive and fun dining experience. A long and vibrant bar will run the length of the wall adjacent to the kitchen and will be perfect for guests wanting to catch up over crafted cocktails or who prefer to settle in for a full dining experience at the bar. In total, the restaurant will accomodate 50-60 seats indoors and another 20-30 seats on our outdoor patio.

The design will be warm, airy and open with the use of a lighter tones, natural woods and clean lines in the design process. Two large garage doors made of glass will help to maximize light exposure, thus making the place appealing for diners during lunch and brunch periods. Equally important, the funtional garage doors can be opened on a beautiful day to help create an open-air feeling between the dining room and outdoor patio. This flexibility also lends itself to large buy-out parties and private dining functions of 100 or more guests where people can easily walk in between the dining room and patio through the open garage doors.

The restaurant will incoporate good use of banquette seating to maximize space and add flexibility with seating parties of various sizes. In other efforts to maximize seating, the restaurant will use “leaf tables” in the center of dining room that allows us to easily transform a square table for 4 guests to a round table that accommodates 6-8 guests. Drink rails will help to corral bar patrons by separating the bar area from the dining room. This also allows guests to conveniently place their drinks down while standing in the bar area and chatting with friends.

Malabar Kitchen will become a diner’s second home – something they turn to when seeking well thought-out food, a delicious craft cocktail and genuine and attentive service without the cost and stuffiness associated with more expensive fine-dining venues.
